Mauritius is considered to be one of the most business-friendly countries in sub-Saharan Africa, as a result of its political stability, good governance and independent judiciary. It ranked first in Africa and 54th most competitive nation in the world out of 140 countries, ranked in the 2019 edition of the Global Competitiveness Report published by the World Economic Forum.
